January 7, 2019 REGULAR MEETING
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session at 7pm in the Auditorium. Notice of this meeting was given in advance by posting in three designated places, and advance notification of the trustees by delivery. Roll call was answered by Trustees Olson, Baack, Ohlsen, Swanson, and Wiemer. Also present were Joyce Schriner, LaVern Stuhr, Sharon Powell, and Rebecca Sandman.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The location of the Open Meetings act was acknowledged.
The Planning Commission had met at 6:30pm to consider a request to rezone property commonly known as 501 Hwy 34 from C-2 to C-1. The Planning Commission voted 7-1 in favor of recommending the zoning for that parcel be rezoned as C-1. Swanson moved and Ohlsen seconded a motion to accept the Planning Commission’s recommendation and rezone property known as 501 Hwy 34 (Tax lot 58 in the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 in Section 29-11-1, Village of Utica, Seward County, Nebraska) to C-1. RCV: all ayes. Ordinance 770, an ordinance to rezone property within the village corporate limits, was introduced on a motion by Swanson and seconded by Baack. RCV: all ayes. The rules of reading on three separate occasions were suspended on a motion by Swanson and seconded by Wiemer. RCV: all ayes. Chairman Olson read Ordinance 770 by title, and then Swanson moved and Baack seconded a motion to adopt and pass Ord. 770 as read. RCV: all ayes.
Claims were reviewed. Swanson moved and Wiemer seconded a motion to pay all claims, with the exception of the York Landfill claim. RCV: all ayes. Swanson moved and Baack seconded a motion to authorize the clerk/treasurer to pay utility claims prior to the meeting to satisfy payment deadlines. RCV: all ayes.
The Board of Trustees deferred other business to Monday, January 14, at 7pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:50pm.
