The Village Board of Trustees met in special session at 7:00pm in the Auditorium to hold a Town Hall meeting. Notice of this meeting was given in advance by posting in three designated places, and advance notification of the trustees by delivery. Roll call showed Trustees Olson, Baack, Ohlsen, Swanson, and Wiemer present. A list of guests are attached to these minutes.

The Town Hall meeting was opened. Jonathan Jank, SCCDP, facilitated the meeting. Railroad crossings and their maintenance were discussed by all present. A demonstration was given on the state of the D Street track and what it should be like after the north track is raised and the approaches are reworked. Costs for closing the E Street crossing are estimated at $9,232. The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will provide $9,232 for these closure expenses. The estimated cost for raising the approaches on the north and south sides of the D Street crossing is $22,950. The total funds available for the project are $24,000, with BNSF providing $19,000 and NDOT providing $5,000. This leaves a balance of $1,050 of excess funds. Following is an estimated sequence of events for this project: BNSF will raise the north track at the D Street crossing; street work on the north and south approaches to the D Street crossing will be completed; D Street crossing is opened for traffic; Work on closing the E Street crossing begins; 15′ of street and all of the sidewalk will be removed; barricades & signage will be installed; BNSF will remove signals and gates at the E Street crossing; BNSF will discontinue sounding horns at the E Street crossing.
Trustee Swanson moved and Trustee Wiemer seconded a motion to close the Town Hall meeting at 8:20pm. RCV: all ayes.
